This is the first pamphlet we produced as an organization and talks about a lot of the basic things that are Pagan.
What is MVPP?

Metro Valley Pagan Pride exists to uplift, unite, and celebrate the diverse tapestry of Pagan, Polytheist, and Earth-centered spiritualities in the heart of the Kanawha Valley and surrounding Appalachian region. We are committed to creating a welcoming, inclusive, and educational space where practitioners of all paths—Wiccan, Druidic, Heathen, Reconstructionist, Eclectic, and beyond—can gather in mutual respect and joyful community.

Our mission is to facilitate the connection between members of Pagan and non secular religions, help build the community, give space to celebrate their individual paths, address social issues affecting the community, and connect to or build programs/events that assist members of the growing community.

Metro Valley Pagan Pride began as Charleston Area Pagan Pride by a man named Culann Lecher. He did everything he could to bring together pagans all across our mountain mother. We are taking that spirit to the next level by creating a non-profit organization.
Our group is dedicated to bringing the greater Pagan community together to celebrate the entire cycle of life and our individual part in it.
Some believe in many gods. Some believe only in themselves. All believe in the freedom of religion.
Group Rules & Community Guidelines
Empathy and Respect
We are a community that values diverse perspectives within a liberal framework. We expect members to engage in "good faith" discussions if a hot button issue does arise, but require it to be framed in a way that’s productive and for the good of the community, not divisive and destructive. If the post in question does start to get heated, confront the idea, not the person-keep it respectful. Name-calling, harassment, and "trolling" will result in an immediate warning or removal depending on the severity of the violation of this rule.
Zero Tolerance for Racism and Hate Speech
We draw a hard line here. Racism, xenophobia, antisemitism, Islamophobia, Homophobia, and all forms of systemic prejudice have no home in this group. This includes: Overt slurs or derogatory language. Dog whistles or "coded" racist rhetoric. The dismissal of lived experiences regarding systemic inequality. We will not tolerate this behavior, and this will be the quickest way to get kicked out and banned from this group.
LGBTQ+ Inclusion and Gender
Equality True progressivism is intersectional. We explicitly support the rights and dignity of the LGBTQ+ community, including trans and non-binary individuals. Misgendering, homophobia, and sexism are considered violations of our "No Hate Speech" policy.
Politics
We recognize that being pagan is inherently political-we do fall into the category of being a minority group as we are not a mainstream religion, and as a Pride based organization we are also inherently an activist organization (pride is literally in our name-Metro Valley Pagan Pride). That being said any information of a political sort is to be informative and not solely opinion based. Our primary focus is on distributing information and sharing resources/mutual aid with each other, not bashing each other over our differences. If a political post is allowed on the rare exception, it will solely be for ahem polite discussion purposes but otherwise all opinion based political posts will be limited to our discord group, where discussion may be allowed to be a lot more spirited. TLDR: If you want to argue politics, there’s a space for that… just not here!
Fact-Based Discussion
While we encourage healthy debate and discussion, we value intellectual honesty. Please avoid spreading misinformation, conspiracy theories, or debunked propaganda. If you share a claim, be prepared to provide a reputable source if asked.
No "Tone Policing"-only Productive Dialogue
While we ask for civility (Rule 1), we recognize that marginalized groups may express frustration or anger regarding injustice. We do not "tone police" people for being passionate about their rights; however, we do require that this passion does not devolve into lateral harassment against other members.

No Promotion or Spam
To keep the page focused on high-quality discussion and information, please do not post unsolicited advertisements, self-promotion, or repetitive "link-dropping" or posts without context. If you wish to promote a person, product, or business feel free to reach out to a Moderator and they will approve or deny the request after deliberating with the other Moderators of the group, and on a case by case basis. Repeatedly trying to post the same thing over and over again while waiting on approval/denial will result in an immediate ban.
No blocking Moderators or Admins
While we recognize that you may not particularly care for a Moderator or Administrator of the group due to personal reasons or issues, knowingly blocking a Moderator/Administrator for the purposes of circumventing our rules will result in an immediate removal and ban from the group upon being noticed. This is a safe space, and by joining the group you acknowledge that you have to let the Moderators do their jobs in upholding that peace and space for everyone involved. We’re all in this together, let’s act like it and be cohesive.
